Born from our province come some of the greatest bowlers, some who are known to be legends in this game. Our golden province of sterling bowlers is made up of 5 districts namely, Johannesburg Bowling Association (JBA), Bowls Gauteng North (BGN), Ekurhuleni Bowls (EKB), Sables Bowls and Sedibeng Bowls.
Each district is comprised of clubs and bowlers who make up the arsenal of bowlers that we currently have.
Johannesburg Bowling Association (JBA)
Johannesburg Bowls association (JBA) is an affiliate district of Bowls South Africa. JBA aims to encourage bowls as a family sport as well as a sport for all ages and abilities. We along with the aid of BSA and our executive committee and various sub-committees, we are always striving to identify new ways to keep the excitement rolling as well as marketing and growing the game we all love. JBA offers coaching for all ages and abilities, as well as for beginners and the more experienced players. With a current total of 31 affiliated clubs and dedicated members, JBA has a highly set level of competitiveness.

Bowls Gauteng North (BGN)
Bowls Gauteng North (BGN) affiliated to Bowls South Africa, becoming an integral part of the national organisation. With 19 affiliated clubs, BGN is actively promoting the development of bowls among youth and new members. They aim to introduce the game to a wider audience, fostering interest and participation in this traditional sport. Through various initiatives and programs, BGN is working towards ensuring the growth and sustainability of bowls at both the local and national levels.

Ekurhuleni Bowls is one of twenty districts affiliated to Bowls South Africa. The Players Association is known as Izimbali (Zulu for “Rose”). The district emblem is a Red Open Rose.

Sables Bowls
Sables Bowling Association is one of the smallest districts in South Africa with only 10 clubs and just under 1000 members. Situated on the West Rand (Roodepoort) in Gauteng. Sables also includes one club from Northwest Province, namely Rustenburg Bowling Club. Sables offers many bowlers, new, disabled and youth the opportunity to learn or improve their bowling skills, by our qualified coaches. We Welcome All Players to Our District!
